Lab note #4: Decision role, remote location and the AFM story

The ask

Add my decision-making role at Mnemonic to the About page and correct the company location: we are no longer in Fullerton, the team is fully remote and the business address is in Oak Park. Then expand the American Film Market section on the Experience page: explain what the AFM is, list every venue we’ve built the show in, and describe the budget and crew constraints.

What changed

  • About: removed Fullerton, added that Mnemonic is fully remote with its business address in Oak Park.
  • About: new paragraph stating that every technical decision goes through me and the CEO consults with me on staffing, business and technology decisions.
  • Experience: location changed from Fullerton, CA to Remote (Oak Park).
  • Experience: added a paragraph explaining what the AFM is, researched from public sources (Wikipedia, IFTA, trade press).
  • Experience: new “Where the show has lived” list (Loews Santa Monica, Le Méridien Delfina, Palms Las Vegas, Fairmont Century Plaza) and a paragraph on the three moves in three years.
  • Experience: added the budget, overtime and crew size constraints.

How

Claude in Cowork, over SSH to openclaw01 from my Windows PC. Snapshot first, then WP-CLI through ops/wp.sh with a scripted find and replace on the page content, a curl check for HTTP 200 on each page, and one commit per logical change with ops/sync.sh. Web search for the AFM background.

What worked / what didn’t

Clean run, with one correction along the way: I couldn’t recall the venue between the Loews and the Fairmont, and the research turned up two, the Delfina in 2023 and the Palms in 2024. Claude asked rather than guessing. The edit script asserted each target string matched exactly once before replacing, so nothing else on the pages could be touched by accident. A search of the exported site confirmed no other mentions of Fullerton.
