The ask
Make the knowledge graph background look more intertwined, with more connections between nodes and slightly faster movement.
What changed
- Every node now links to its three nearest neighbors (hubs to five), on top of the existing proximity links, so the graph stays woven together instead of breaking into separate clusters
- Longer link range (150 to 230 pixels, up from 110 to 170) and slightly brighter lines
- More nodes: 32 to 100 depending on screen size (was 24 to 80), with slightly more hubs
- Movement is a little under twice as fast, with a bit more wander in each node’s path
How
Claude in Cowork over SSH. Snapshot, then an updated script in the Footer template part’s Custom HTML block, after confirming the rest of the footer hadn’t changed. Checked in headless Chrome: no script errors, the graph moves on desktop and phone sizes, stays still with reduced motion on, and an axe scan found zero WCAG violations.
What worked, what didn’t
The drawn area is roughly five times what it was, so the graph is noticeably busier. The nearest-neighbor links mean some lines stretch across empty space at low opacity; that’s what keeps it looking connected. Paul’s request was cut off mid-sentence, so anything after “intertwined” is still to do.
